We shall create magic

– at our own pace!

Solid Foundations

With our brand new EMBRACE project just around the corner, we have started laying the foundations. We know that we are going to need more support and more capacity to get the very most from this project and the Organisational Development aspect of the funding from the National Lottery Community Fund is there to do just that.

Knitting something beautiful

We have  identified an amazing ‘critical friend’ and will be meeting up soon to unpick all the wool in our heads, knit something beautiful and put it back again just in time to hit the ground running in June when the full project starts. In plainer English – we’ll have a decent plan of action!

Again and again and again, it becomes apparent that we need help with Marketing and Promotion and so our very first step will be to find someone to help with this- we’re currently drafting an advert and some information and will be inviting Expressions of Interest very soon, so watch this space – and give a shout out to anyone you know who may be interested!

We are planning a full-on launch event for the project for 19th October so, put the date in your diaries and look out for more information. It’ll be in Shrewsbury during the afternoon and there will be lots of information and maybe even a little entertainment! It will be an open event, welcoming LGBT+ people of all ages, friends, allies and service providers from health & social care sectors – and the legal world.

Hatching a plan

Meanwhile, we are working closely with Shropshire Partners in Care, hatching a plan to get our awareness-raising sessions out as widely as we can, alongside the ones we are running in Shropshire Council’s Joint Training Programme – of which we are getting amazing feedback, including:

best training I have been on for ages – much needed topic for awareness

See – there are bits of magic everywhere!
